ABOUT US

Welcome to Hastshilp sewa Samiti, so happy you’re here!

Nowadays, the use of single-use products seriously affects the ocean ecosystem. With 8 million tons of plastic being dumped into our oceans every year, our marine life is swallowing more plastic than ever before. By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. There is no second planet! So solutions to decrease plastics should be taken urgently.

That is the reason why Hastshilp sewa Samiti was born – It was born from our devotion to the ocean and eagerness to address plastic pollution.

We make our lovely straws using wood, it is the strongest and most sustainable plant in the world! It grows so fast, up to almost 1 meter a day for the fastest species, that it’s the perfect sustainable option for the planet. Using wood material with us, you can help reduce the heart-breaking and saddening use of plastic and single use plastic items, which are contributing to the demise of wildlife and ocean habitats all around the world. At the same time, as recognizing the importance of coconut, by up-cycling this natural material, we create our sustainable coconut bowls. We save thousands of coconut waste discarded in landfill by boosting the circular economy.
